AWADI (Visions of Egyptian Baladi), Bloomsbury Theatre, London May 2008. A strong performance, rooted in tradional Baladi and performed with richness from the dancers and musicians. El Mizan (Oscillations), The Drum, Birmingham, Feb 2008. A triumph of artistic collaboration, inspired creativity using body, flow, light and space. A Suraya Hilal Dance Company production.
El Saqiyeh, The Drum, Birmingham March 2007 and Lilian Bayliss, London June 2007. Fabulous performance by trio of dancers led by Alessandro el Bascioni, his Iskandar Dance Company, and in addition, unannounced, an inspiring solo by Suraya Hilal accompanied by Ibrahim El Minyawi on tabla. An Iskandar Dance Company production. Words fail me!
