What to bring to dance workshop
Warm up
A yoga mat is useful but anything to protect your back when lying down is fine.
Wear comfortable clothes that you can move around in and stretch easily.
Dancing
Comfortable clothes for practice could include a long skirt with an elasticated waistband as we wear the skirt at hip level.
Long sleeved top that covers the stomach.
Hip scarf. This will be tied around the hips and can be a plain or sparkly length of fabric, beaded or coin scarf as required.
Items such as veils, sticks, sagat may be required, but these will be discussed in class depending on what the term focus is.
Notes
We usually dance barefoot but if this doesn't suit you, bring soft ballet shoes with a flexible sole.
Bring water. In some venues, water is available, but you may wish to bring your own.
